Global UGRAD Exchange Program | Mechanical Engineer

Hamza Muzaffar | Fall 2017 | Michigan State University

I’m called Hamza – Currently Global UGRAD Exchange Program student studying at Michigan State University, East Lansing. I am majoring in Mechanical Engineering with minors in American Politics and Poetry writing.

I was asked to write and share story of my life, the achievements I have made so far. But I think what is important for you guys to know is not what I have achieved. It’s what you’ll achieve and what you’ll do to create an impact.

The only thing I wish to mention here and I want you to grab is that I love humanity and I love to do stuff that ultimately benefits my community, my people and country. Doing something for your own sake, for your own benefit or your own fame is something anybody can do and a lot of people do. What makes a difference is when you get yourself out of your own zone and think broadly – when you try to do stuff that benefits a person, people or communities.

Do small acts with a lot of pleasure and this would lead you ultimately to a place when you’ll do greater everlasting acts with a lot of pleasure. If I talk about my life back in school days or the college days, I never thought I would ever get a chance to go out of my country as an Ambassador of Pakistan and will have a chance to represent my country at international forum. But here I’m – doing what I have always wanted to do. Right after 18 days from now, I’m arranging an event called Diversity Not Division where there will be people from a lot of countries, from a lot of cultures and from every religion. Where there probably will be government officials, where there will be head of departments of MSU, where there will be Presidents of international clubs from MSU, where there will be priests, people from Jews and Atheist Family and I’ll be presenting there – I would say – the true culture of our country, the soft side of our Religion and How we can contribute in creating this world a better place, a peaceful place. We’ll be discussing how we can create a bridge of harmony and love between nations and religions. DREAMS COMING TRUE.

Work hard for your goals. It takes time, it requires an effort to achieve what you want to and if you don’t get something – achieve something even after putting a lot of effort into it, Don’t give up. The time is always right to do what is right. Work even harder and create an impact.

Let me know if I can help you in any way, I would definitely be more than happy to help you. Have a good one.
