AAUW’s International Fellowship program is established in 1917 with a purpose to provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents. Preference is given to women who show prior commitment to the advancement of women and girls through civic, community, or professional work.

Graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions.
Applicants must be women and have citizenship in a country other than the United States or possession of a nonimmigrant visa if residing in the United States. Women holding dual citizenship in the United States and another country are not eligible. Applicants must have earned the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree by 30 September 2017, and must have applied to their proposed institutions of study by the time of the application.

Notification of decisions e-mailed to all applicants. When April 15 falls on a weekend, notifications will be emailed on the next business day. AAUW is not able to honor requests for earlier notification.
